Lost FWD, power steering, reverse, multiple transmission codes

Jeep Cherokee 2015

It started like a typical work day, but it was short-lived. Just 2 minutes after leaving my house, my car Lost FWD (FWD temporarily unavailable), and then my power steering went out.  At one point I couldn't reverse and the car stayed In place. I recently replaced my AC compressor around 3 weeks prior and most recently had the CV joint in my driver's side replaced.  I did have my transmission rebuilt around 8 months ago but I didn't have any issues with it after it was rebuilt. The backup camera stopped turning the backup lines and just stayed frozen and now my AC doesn't cool anymore. The belt is on and the AC compressor is spinning. Had it at my local mechanic shop and they couldn't figure it out. I was then sent to his friend who is more electronic savvy and he blamed the transmission. I went to my transmission mechanic and he took out his big fancy expensive scanner and popped over 40 error codes. the only codes that remained after deletion are [DTCM (drive Train Control Module) u0415-00], [DTCM (drive Train Control Module0 U0131-00], [ABS (Anti Lock Brakes) U0002888], and [ORC (Air Bag/Occupant Restraint) U013100].

Any idea what is going on or where to start? A family acquaintance is guessing the ABS.

Well you want the truth. Those are pretty crappy vehicles. And you said the transmission was rebuilt. I find most guys don't know how to rebuild those things at all. But I'd take it back to wherever. Rebuilt the transmission to see what they say. If you're lucky, maybe a sensor has gone bad or wiring in the transmission I would start there

  • Well realize those are pretty crappy vehicles as they age. And you said somebody rebuilt the transmission so I would start by digging it back to them to see if there's a problem. They didn't rebuild it right or sensor went bad or wiring. Realize over 33% of the rebuilds never worked the first time on those anyway. And just realized Jeeps are electronic crap wagons and when they start going bad electronically, it's time to get rid of them before you fall into the endless money pit
