Jeep Liberty

Scotty I'm thinking of getting a a first gen Jeep Liberty '05-07.  Your thoughts on the CRD 2.8l vs 3.7l gas engines. Assuming similar kilometers     120-185 thousand Km. and $4-6k in price. Only other variable is maybe a 6speed manual for the 3.7l because that wasn't even an option with the diesel engine which is too bad.

I would recommend a RAV4 or CRV over the Jeep Liberty any day of the week. In fact the best bang for the buck might be a sedan like a Corolla or Civic. The Jeep Liberty is not the best quality product that has come off an automobile assembly plant.

Jeep Liberty, please just say no.

As has been pointed out a RAV4 or CRV would be a far preferable choice. However if you really want a Jeep you'd actually be better off looking for an old Cherokee with the 4.0 inline six. Even with the problems brought on by age it would still be better than a Liberty.

Get a Rav4.  The Liberty's were not good cars. They have way too many problems since they are FCA. Much better off with something else.
