Want to buy a new car, my firs car. Not sure between Kia Forte and Toyota Corolla. What would be the best choice in both the short and long run?. Forte is less expensive but Corolla I believe is better quality that would mean less maintenance & repair costs in the long run. I was told in the past Kia Cars had bad quality. Lately I have heard that Kia has improved the quality very much. This is why I am asking for advise. Thank you.

I have a 2021 Kia Forte GT manual and love it. Got it for $19000 brand new, I think the dealer was having tough time selling cause it’s a manual. But it has great tech and interior looks good. I think Toyota’s interior looks dated

Kia quality is terrible. Some models are even under recall for literally bursting into flames spontaneously, with owners warned not to park the car inside a garage. Better to stretch the budget a bit and get the Corolla. Don't take my word for it, do a search here for comments about Kia.

Thank you.

Corolla for sure.

I would go Corolla of those two.  Realize though we don’t know the long term longevity of this new generation Corollas especially the ones with the 2.0L Dynamic Force engines (check the trim levels to see what it has) and I am not a fan of CVTs either for longevity, although a manual transmission was offered on some trims (if you know how to drive manual go that route).  Be sure to stay on top of the engine oil and transmission fluid changes to make them last longer.

Corolla all the way. Hyundai and Kia both make some of the worst cars in the industry.

Kia is junk. You will be much better off in the toyota.

Thank you.

Although Korean car are cheap as compared to Toyota but they don't last longer than 100000miles no matter how much u baby it. Take a example from hundayi their new cars are having ECU problems. I say get Toyota as first car and baby it and will last for life time.

KIA are KIA for a reason

KILLED IN ACTION🤣🤣

Well, Kia continues to be crap and they are slowly going back to the old days of horrible quality. I saw a video the other day of a 2020 Kia Soul with that "IVT" aka CVT transmission which is the same one in the Forte and Seltos and it went out at like 675 miles and I have heard other complaints of them going out under 10 000 miles. I would go Corolla hands down, the Forte is a rolling pile of junk now despite all the BS that people have been saying about them and how superior they are to the Japanese brands and lalalala.

The only people who complain about kias never owned one. Anyone who thinks Hyundai is unreliable today is uninformed and doesn't know enough about modern cars. Look at your phone.. if it's Samsung is Korean. They make the best quality stuff out there. Don't listen to outdated information, listen to owners. You'll find wayyy more issues on Honda, Toyota in these forums vs hyundai or kia. 2010 Forte here with 230000km running like new. Cheers

This post was hilarious. Thanks for the laugh. {black}

@vanguard Samsung and quality do not go together lol. They are crap as they age and I ended up switching to iPhones and Pixels which are way better lol. Heck even Scotty likes Pixels more than Samsungs.
