2014 Kia Soul with multiple issues

Hi Scotty! I am a huge fan!

It’s a 2014 Kia Soul 1.6 GDI (garbage carbon) engine (with a stupid beauty cover). non-turbo, 6-speed manual transmission, with 125,000 miles on it. Oil change with synthetic about every 5k-7k miles. It has never had a check engine light.

first concern.

it burns about half a quart to a quart every 1000 miles. But only after the first 1.5-2k miles between oil changes. what I’ve tried: multiple consecutive fuel cleanings with PEA cleaner, new spark plugs, high mileage oil, Italian tune ups, check for leaks, changed the pcv valve. It still burns oil.

second concern.
it loses coolant really slowly. It dropped an inch in the last 10k miles. No signs of leakage. Radiator cap looks fine and I don’t see any coolant in the oil.

third concern.

It’s long term fuel trim at idle is hovering at 13-15 and 11 with a/c running. And around 5-8 driving around.
Air filter is clean, it has a new gas cap. I can’t find loose fitting or broken hoses. A smoke test showed nothing.

All recalls have been preformed.
It has a “lifetime” warranty on the engine now, if the bearings give out. What should I do?

Oil consumption is probably due to rings being worn though valve stem seals are another possibility. If the "lifetime" warranty only covers bad bearings it won't help you with this problem. Those vehicles are usually not good for much more than 100K miles and you're well beyond that point.
