I have a 2017 Kia Sorento, 27000 miles (still under warranty until June 2022). Seems like I am always running low on windshield washer fluid. Put a gallon in on 5/21/21 at 24776 miles, then got an alert on 8/05/21 (26920 mi) that I was out again. Is this normal? You can’t see the lower part of the reservoir (unless you remove the bottom splash guards-I live in a high rise and can’t jack up my car). I could get a UV leak detection kit (fluid dye, UV light and yellow glasses, about $30), but againI can’t see the bottom of the reservoir. The part lists on Kia’s site as $150 to $190. I want to make sure it is not broken or leaking while it’s in warranty, but I’m afraid that if there’s no leak, they will charge me labor. Any suggestions???
Check the fluid line and see if there is a check valve inline. they break sometimes and let the fluid drain out.
Thanks, I’ll find a diagram online and look for that valve!
Did you not use the sprayer at all during the 3 months? In the monsoon, I find myself having to top up the reservoir every fortnight.
When you leave the car parked overnight, is there a puddle of water underneath?
Took it to the dealer. The washer pump was leaking; they replaced on warranty. Problem solved! {pear}
