Scotty,

I have a 2014 GMC acadia that has a problem since day one. It has 50,000miles on it. I bought it a year old. It revs to 3500 or higher before it shifts. accelerating to get on freeway, it goes to 5000 or higher. I took  it to different stealers, and they all say the same thing, no codes set, have a nice day. I took it to 2 independent mechanics (who charged me big money) I asked them to reprogram the tcm, and they said it can't be done.

Also, when you put it in tow/haul mode, it makes no difference. It revs the same. Should I try the trick you showed us to disconnect the neg cable to reset the computers? I have the tool you recommended to maintain the computer settings, do I hook that up when doing the reset, or am I asking a dumb question? I'm so frustrated, that I would be willing to drive to Tennessee, if you think you can fix it. I'm in Ohio. Thanks for any help you could give me. Dave

Well now you realize the crappy transmissions and electronics that are in GM vehicles a big reason I tell people never to buy them in the first place.Basically the dealers don't care about you or your vehicle they already have your money when you purchase the vehicle.you're only real optionist to try to find a good transmission shop which isn't that easy to do these days as when I was back in Houston all the really good ones I knew had retired and the young guys didn't know what they were doing half the time. They're basically making planned obsolescence transmissions these days when they go out often they never fix them again right and then say oh that's normal if they do try to fix them and they don't shift correctly. So do try to find a transmission guy if you can

Thanks, Scotty I appreciate it. You are so right about stealerships. Sorry took so long getting back to you. I don't do too well with computers.
