Hello everyone
i would like to change the headlights on my car and I’m wondering if i should choose LED lights or HID ?
in the past on my previous vehicle i’ve had HID lights and i’m curios if LED bulbs would last longer
I have to mention that i drive a lot during the night and i’ll need something very bright (but decent enough to not blind the other people)

I used to use hid kits but I’ve gone led over the last few years.. to me they’re brighter to me and no flicker and I’ve never had one go bad and one of my kits it’s probably 5 years old at this point and never so much as a flicker. I highly recommend led and don’t look back. The kits used to be super expensive but the last set I bought was from Amazon for like 45 bucks and they’re great
LEDs will last longer for sure, but HIDs will be brighter.
Use 4300K HID bulbs if you’re worried about blinding others.
With that said, what type of headlights does your car use? If you have halogen reflectors, stick to replacement LEDs. If you have projectors, go right ahead with HIDs.
Never use HIDs in a reflector as that will surely blind oncoming traffic due to the light scattering.
If you are replacing your halogen/incandescent bulbs (in reflective housing) with LEDs I recommend Headlight Revolution. They have quality LEDs, but not cheap. However, they test all their products in wide variety of vehicles and publish in videos for consumer to see. You can even email them and ask what bulb will work best in your vehicle.
Not all LED lights are created equal. Even if you don’t buy from them, their video below shows what to look for in selecting the proper LED bulbs, such as beam pattern, brightness, fitment, cooling (LEDs can get very hot), wiring.
