Lexus gs 350 2016 vs 2017 - 2020

Hi, my inlaw is looking to upgrade from his camry to a gs, we read some reviews that claim the post-face-lift version is much better snd refined hence we are aiming for that (regardless of the looks 😆). We keep seeing a lot of 2016 versions, but upon more research, there are claims it lacks alot of safety features that were made standard on the 2017 versions and above, please is this true, and what safety features are this?

Will it be worth it being patient and looking for a 2017 - 2020, or are the safety features not really something major or important?

Thank you for your responses.

I personally don't worry about that safety features. Seat belt works fine if you buckle them up. And truthfully, the older ones are better built than the newer ones in terms of long life

Thank you scotty

The safety feature is there referring to is probably the inland collision avoiding that it has emergency braking if it senses a car in front of you

Thank you @gew

My father has been driving the GS 350s for about 10 years now his personal favorite was a 2014 Japanese made he likes it better than his 2018

Okay, thank you for the insight.
It's just so sad that there is no dealerships in our radar that have both post and pre-facelift models so we can test drive both

The drive should be about the same.
The new one just have the Eminem collision breaking and steering assist and maybe a few other features

Okay, thank you again
