Does direct injection cause carbon buildup

Hey Scotty I know you’re a fan of the Lexus IS250. Have you ever seen or heard of the direct injection

causing too much carbon buildup on the valves? If so is the D4S engine immune to this problem?

Well they all do to some extent because direct injection does not spray fuel on the intake valves and that's what keeps them clean. So when oil and air missed come into the PCV valve system, they'll build up on antique valves and no gasoline is there to clean them
