- Just bought a 2002 Lexus RX300, 2WD, 205k miles got it for $600
I saw a video from scotty says these are good cars. What about the transmission on them? Are they also bulletproof like the sienna?
Sometimes it does shift hard on initial shift into drive, but doesnt act weird when driving at all. Shifts very smooth.
Pondering which vehicle to keep.
I have a 99 Corolla, with 199k miles. Runs great.
I like the extra space in the lexus
My lexus engine good shape, no blowby, trans fluid smells good. Same with corolla. Which would you bet money on, lasting longer? With average driving.
Well I'm a cheapskate so I'd keep the Corolla because it gets a lot better gas mileage. And if you only paid 600 bucks for that Lexus there's bound to be things that are worn such as the transmission which shows that it's starting to wear. And if it ever does break down you'd get rid of the car because it would cost more than 10 times what you paid for the car to fix the transmission
