Have 2019 ford escape sel 1.5 Ltd. 211000 plus miles. Use for uber full time and use rear liftgate often. Luggage for airport rides an such. Well recently it started to work when it felt like like me lmao. But anyway I bought a liftgate actuator latch from rock auto. Replaced it now it just beeps in open position and won't close even when replacing old one back in. At least b4 when I could get old one too open it would always close just issues opening.  Tried disconnecting battery for 15min and restart with only ac on to relearn but still nothing . Can I bypass push button electric opening to manual or besides going to dealer for $1000 plus dollars to fix can I do anything else.

Did you use an OEM sensor? That Chinese crap probably won't work with a 2019 Escape, everything is electronic, nowadays, and it may not mesh well with the numerous other computers.

Just use a manual lock, next time. Unless you have arthritis, or something, a manual lock is will always work. People are so lazy, now.
