Locksmiths in Houston?

Hey everyone! I got a 2017 Miata and I have 2 keys one that has been cut and the other that hasn't and I would like to get it cut in case something happens to my first key. The issue is that the dealership wants to charge me $300 to cut the key and I'm not sure if that is a good price or not, but I'm assuming since it's a dealership it's not a good price and want to go to a good reputable locksmith were I live, Houston. Any recommendations?

if you look in our FAQ there are a few mechanic recommendations in Texas. They should be able to direct you to a good locksmith.

Would you agree that $300 is too much? If so, about how much would you say it should cost?

it costs a lot that's all I know

That sounds about right. My '99 Ranger required a trip to the dealership because there were three keys active, and only one came with the vehicle. I paid around $210, plus taxes. I'd rather use a locksmith.
