Hi all,
First time here. Found out about this forum from Scotty's Facebook page.
I come from a non-English speaking European country, so pardon any grammatical errors I make.
I have troubles with a car, so I thought I may try my luck here.
The car in question is, specifically, Honda/Acura NSX, made from 1997-2001 (NA1, pre-facelift). The one with popup headlights, 3.2 engine and 6-speed gearbox.
I think those were all targas, maybe Type S or Type R variants weren't, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Anyway, I saw Scotty mentioning NSXes a few times in his videos. I even think he said the red Acura NSX he made a video about was on sale, but that video is from 2019.
The problem I have is: I want to buy one, but cannot find the specific model mentioned above. They're all either older versions with 3.0 engine, 5-speed gearbox, or have 100k+ miles on them and in bad shape, or are facelift models (NA2) which I'm not interested in, because I love popup headlights, or are abnormally overpriced.
So if someone here knows of a car out there that matches the following criteria, I'd be willing to reward that person with a fee after the deal is done.
My criteria:
- 1997-2001 Honda/Acura NSX (color doesn't matter)
- 3.2 engine, 6-speed manual gearbox, popup headlights
- < 70-80k miles
- < $70k
- Full service history, well maintained
- NO fast'n'furious tuning (if the guy changed the wheels or exhaust that's ok, but no compressors, turbines, widebody kits, etc.)
- Accident-free
Since I'm in Europe, I'd obviously need to transport that car somehow here, plus pay additional taxes, which is all my cost.
Unfortunately, that's why I cannot offer more than $70k. My job sucks and it took me a long time to even collect this amount of money. I'm in love with this car and I'm buying it for myself, not for resale.
Thank you
🙂
I say just get a new one
Thank you, but I'm not interested in new one (or new cars in general).
I don’t personally know of anyone trying to sell a NSX. But, if you want to buy one in the USA and export it to Europe try searching AutoTrader, Autotempest, CarGurus, and Bringatrailer. The original NSX is a fantastic car and they’re only going up in value, especially ones that are in nice shape. I would imagine importing a car has quite a few complications that could drive up the price so it may be more expensive than you think, especially if you want a clean lower mileage example. But good luck, hopefully you find the one you’re looking for!
Thank you, I will hopefully find something 🙂
