Hey everyone, hopefully this gets to Scotty as well. My poor 2010 Lexus ES 350 was recently stolen and destroyed. I am now looking into replacement vehicles. But I’m trying to be cautious because I don’t have a full wallet and I’m gonna have to make payments. I would love to get another Lexus. But I cannot find one within my price range in the area that I live.
The following vehicles are a few I have found that I am interested in and I’m curious on peoples opinions.
The first vehicle is a 2009 Acura TL with 170,000 miles. The timing belt and water pump was replaced less than 300 miles ago.
This car is also in very good condition. Not even damage to the leather seats. And it’s only two owners.
The second option is a 2015 Lincoln MKz hybrid with around 130,000 miles. The car is in really great condition and sitting at a BMW dealer, unfortunately at the moment I cannot access the Carfax.
The third possible option is a 2013 Toyota Camry SE with 147,000 miles. But it has been in four separate accidents. It was clearly repaired, but you can kind of tell in certain photos that certain things are slightly out of alignment. And it’s a four-cylinder….
I am aware that Toyota and Lexus is probably the smartest decision. But I’m still wondering about the other vehicles as well as I’m at a complete loss at this point and I need a vehicle as soon as possible that’s not going to cost me an arm and a leg in the future. And again there are no Lexuses around my area in my price range.
Note that Carfax is not reliable. Not everything is reported to them.
Unfortunately none of those are great choices.
The Lincoln, well, that's a Ford product and a fairly old hybrid, not a good combination.
The 2009 Acura TL is known for oil burning problems.

The Camry has been in too many accidents and still has visible damage after being repaired. Additionally, Camrys of that vintage are prone to torque converter problems.

great advice. I would not buy any of these cars either, refreshing chuck..
Edit- update.
i have also found a 2010 Lexus is250awd. With preferred accessory pack. It has 185,000 miles. No accidents. And looks really good. It’s in Tennessee tho, and I am in IL. But I have family who could look at it for me sense they live an hour away. I am aware this is already a better choice than anything else I have found. Any opinions????
With That many miles I hope it's pretty cheap
They are asking around 8K
You're best bet is the Acura. It shows in what you put on your question that it has the least problems so I think that would be your best recommendation as long as you have a mechanic check it out first before buying it.
