Looking for a nicer scan tool, ABS, Traction Control, Break Light

I have a 2005 Scion XD and recently the ABS, Traction Control and Break Light indicators on the dash started to light up together and then after a min they go out. It happens while driving on the highway mostly and on dry roads. I suspect a speed sensor may be failing but the scan tool I have only pulls codes from the engine, transmission & Emissions. It can't get any info from ABS, TC or the Break system. I am wondering how much I would have to spend to get a scan tool that could diagnose such a problem? Is there one that can show the raw data from the speed sensors so if it zeros out I know which one to replace or is there one that can pull codes from those systems if there is one? Would it actually be cheaper to take it to a shop that has the tool already then to buy one?

parts stores (autozone, oreilly etc.) provide scans as a courtesy, as will some mechanics.

If you want to buy one, check our FAQ for guidance.

The parts stores have the same scanner I have. It won't get the codes from the ABS, TC or breaks... I will check out the FAQ.

"brakes"

It turned out to be a bad wheel bearing. As soon as that was changed the light went away.

yup that'll do it. If the bearings are sloppy then the hub moves around, and the speed sensor can't sense the speed. Thanks for reporting back.
