OEM automatic trans fluid for 1995 Corolla?

Looking for OEM transmission fluid and part number for 1995 Corolla dx sedan 1.8L automatic transmission vehicle

There's a good chance it is no longer available after 30 years. Also, older cars tended to use standard types of transmission fluid such as Dexron or Mercon. The information should be in your owner's manual.


@chucktobias manual say Dexron II which I can’t find. Hoping there’s another OEM transmission fluid that’s current and backwards compatible


You can use Dexron III. Valvoline and others still make it. (My trans calls for Dexron II, and III works in it just fine.)


The new Dexron VI is supposed to be backward-compatible but I doubt that it was tested against a 30-year-old Toyota.

From a quick google search: "For a 1995 Toyota Corolla, the recommended automatic transmission fluid is Toyota Genuine ATF Type T-IV or an equivalent that meets Dexron III/Mercon specifications. The OEM part number for the Toyota fluid is 00279-000T4 "
