Looking to buy a car

Hey Scotty, Long time fan of your video and advice on cars for a long time. Now the time has come and I finally have a car issue I could really use your help with!

Well, right now I am looking into getting a car. I'm not sure what to get. I'm looking to spend no more then 30K on a car.

I need something big that will be fuel efficient and will last and long time and won't be to costly if it breaks down. Stores are about 20 to 30+ minutes away from me ( I'm in a rural area). So I was looking at a 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE I was made an offer from a dealership for about  27K and some change. I'm not 100% sure if it would be the right move or if I can save money and find a better deal for a used car or another vehicle entirely.

So I'm new to the state and I'm knew to the area I'm in so I don't have friends or a mechanic that I can trust here that I can go to. I do trust your opinion though and I'd definitely like your advice and hope to speak with you more about my dilemma further any response and help would be greatly appreciated!

Hy there!

Hybrids cost too much. If you live in U.S., petrol engines there last longer. Here in Europe it makes more sense finding an used diesel since Toyota reduced their avaliability in new cars.

Good luck!

Well. If you're determined to get a hybrid; he always says to get a new one and stay away from used ones. If you go a different vehicle entirely really depends on what part of the country you're in. You said "rural area" But that can mean so many different things depending on your geographical rural area. Heck, rural area in my part of NC is going to be different just in the same state.

I live in Texas if that helps. I never even thought about that. I live just outside San Antonio. I'm not 100% sold on anything specific other than it does have to be an SUV and it will definitely have to be good on gas and killer in mechanical work.
