Loud Bang from First to Second Gear

Hi Scotty.

I need your help. On my 2022 Ford edge with 30k miles 2.0 Ecoboost w/8 speed automatic transmission, I get a very loud noise coming from the back of the car (floor of the back seat) when it shifts from first to second gear. Usually happens when accelerating during speeds of 15-25 mph. The irony is that there is no check engine light and no codes for whatever reason. Where do I start? Whats my problem? Help.

If possible please upload a video demonstrating the noise to youtube.

The irony is that there is no check engine light and no codes for whatever reason.

Why is that ironic? Not every malfunction in a car results in a check engine light or a code. If it's a transmission problem you would need a professional-grade scan tool that can read manufacturer-specific transmission codes.

The vehicle is still under warranty. (30k miles) Also, the tranny shudders when shifting, especially when accelerating on the highway.

The transmission should not be shuddering. Put the gorilla suit on if needed and make the dealer fix it. If the dealer claims "it's normal, they all do that", take a test drive in another - chances are it will not do the same thing.

There should be no bang or vibration coming from the transmssion. Use the warranty, take to the dealership..

I'm not hearing anything like a loud bang in that video. Is that vehicle still under warranty?
