Hi
I have a 2001 Lexus LS430, 5 speed auto, 150k miles. new starter, new alternator, new battery. Other than that no issues. After timing belt, waterpump change the engine became very "loud". Mechanic thinks it is "normal". I know the car ran much quieter before
what gives?

Check to see that whoever did the work forgot to tighten the exhaust manifold, if it had to be removed.
No exhaust work. Noise started after timing belt/waterpump etc was changed
