Loud noise on Cold Start + Going through oil Fast

Hello! 1st post here, been following Scotty since 2016!

Vehicle: 2010 Rav4 Limited

Mileage: 190k

Automatic

I will admit I have not had this checked out after a couple months due to money.. I have a small bonus coming this pay check and am hoping to get the issue resolved, but the trust-worthy shops around me are out of my price range for diagnostics. If I can narrow it down to 1 or 2 potential issues, it'd save me $100s in diagnose fees.

Issues:

On cold start, there is a LOUD noise. I don't know how to describe it as it's not a grinding noise like a bad starter. It can last 2-4 seconds.

I can turn the car off within seconds and rsstart- no noise. If the car has been driven for a while and sitting for 10-30mins- no noise.

The car is also going through oil like crazy! Every couple of weeks I am having to add more. I am not leaking any that I've seen. I park in my own garage and there are no signs there or in parking spaces when leaving work.

I mention this as I don't know if it could be related or not.

While I've followed Scotty for years, I look at videos when I need info like my Ex's Celica that he swore we couldn't fix outselves(thanks to Scotty we did!). I am not adept at Cars, so I apologize if I'm using the wrong wording on anything.

Here is a short video of my poor Rav4 during a cold start

Thank you to anyone for any tips/advice you may have!

The loud noise on cold start is most likely the VVTI system on the camshafts. It uses oil pressure to vary the valve timing, but can get worn. After the first start-up, there's oil in the system and it's not noisy. You should be able to find several Youtubes on replacing it - warning, it's not cheap.

Dealing with the oil burning, first replace you PCV valve (they are cheap).A clogged PCV will result in higher oil burning. If that doesn't''t help, try the ATS 505 chemical treatment that Scotty demonstrates in several videos.
