I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna xle awd, since I purchased it about 4 years ago, it has had a loud whine coming from the transmission area. It drives like normal, just loud whine noise, changes pitch with rpm and also does the same noise in park or neutral. Anybody know exactly what causes this whine noise? Transmission hydraulic pump going bad? The fluid is full and smells normal, I changed the transmission filter and topped off the fluid about 10,000 miles ago.

It could be many things, and there isn't much you can do about any of them.
Just take good care of the vehicle and hope it lasts.
