My brakes operate as they should, however, my pedal has a long through. Is there any way to bring that up somehow. My mechanic tells me they seem okay to him, but the pedal goes pretty much even with the gas pedal which I really don't like.
I did have the brake fluid replaced but that didn't help at all. No leaks that I nor the mechanic can see. The car has only 53000 miles on it and the pads are not badly worn.
The mechanic tells me there is no adjustment to bring the pedal higher.
Is he correct? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
When did this start? Was it always this way?
I bought this car about one year ago. The pedal has always had a long throw.
On one of the weekend car shows they had a similar issue (no external leaks, pad good, new fluid) and it ended up being an internal leak in the master cylinder. The only other thing I could think of might be something in the brake booster and/or how it attaches to the brake pedal.
Thank you very much. I will check to see if this could be the problem.
