Scotty,
I have a 1991 Pontiac Trans Am GTA with the L98 5.7L engine. It has approximately 49,000 miles all original. I recently had a problem with a cold start having to crank the engine at least 3 times to start it. When it did start it would give a low fuel pressure code (OBD I). I have had the fuel pump and fuel filter replaced. The cold start is a little better but not like it used to be and I still get the low fuel pressure code on a cold start. What could be the issue?
Thank you
Since you changed the filter and pump, my next thought was fuel pressure regulator. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
Does it smoke at all when it starts? Somewhat less likely but if you have leaky fuel injectors it will bleed off pressure in the line otherwise I would definitely look into the fuel pressure regulator
Thank you
Well you might have gotten a bad pump but the only other thing I can do would be the clogged fuel filter event fuel line or a bad fuel pressure regulator
Thank you for the help.
