I’m looking at purchasing a 2007 Toyota Camry 2.4 L i4 automatic with 8,000 miles on it from a dealer. The carfax report says only one owner from California, no accidents, routine maintenance performed, driven about 500 mi per year. Is this a good deal? Should I be prepared to spend some cash on repairs due to it sitting for so long? I appreciate y’all’s input.
Mileage is very suspicious and needs to be confirmed. Carfax is useless except possibly for checking mileage. Check carefully to see if there are any reports that have higher mileage than currently on the odometer.
The other problem is that Camrys of that vintage suffer from oil burning with the 2.4 engine and other issues.

As @chucktobias mentioned, that was an issue year.
At only 8k miles that would scare me, cars don't like just sitting.
For an old car with that mileage, probably the odometer has been rolled back because I actually never seen an old car with an extremely low mileage in my entire life not even in rare cases it sounds very suspicious that needs to be confirmed that this is an original miles. Cars are not meant to sit for very long period of time and not driving it.
