I have a lowered honda and im replacing the power steering rack soon, before i put the part on the car i want to know if there is something i can do to prevent the rack leaking again. i was looking on some forms and i saw that some people were saying that steering rack should have been fine if that drop wasn't that low and then some giving me the opposite answer. thanks in advance
ps. im going to raise the car again after the part is put
Well by "wasn't that low" what does that mean? Lol if it scrapped on a bump on the road then yeah, I can see it happening haha. That being said, lowering your car shouldn't be an issue if it's not super low to the ground. You can get an aftermarket metal shield that would take the brunt of the blow if you are concerned. As long as the new part is replaced properly and you say you are gonna raise your car the issue shouldn't appear again honestly.
no one specified how low was too low which was confusing me too lol thanks
How far did you slam it? For the rack to be affected, you'd have to have it practically on the ground.
I managed to slam a C5 Z06 Corvette so low that my toe wouldn't fit under the front lip splitter and still didn't have steering rack issues.
