Hello, I have a 1999 mazda protege with 241,000 miles on it. It runs great but has recently and randomly misfiring after restarting. It runs terrible but after a minute or so will clear up and run normally. The only codes I have are running lean and cylinder 2 misfire. I swapped coils and no change. What should I look for? I want to milk this car till the cow it dry.

What do your fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs look like? Fuel injectors been cleaned in recent years? You could try cleaning your MAF sensor and throttle body, and using some fuel injector cleaner.

lean mixture is most often caused by vacuum leaks.
