Scotty! Hope your having a great time in Tennessee! Whats your opinion on a 1999 mercury cougar with 49k miles owned by a little old lady. Automatic transmission. Could it be a good daily? Project car? Thanks.

Those were essentially a mix between an Accord and a Mustang. You didn't say money, but if they aren't asking very much it could be a nice buy.

The thing is 22 years old. I don't know if I would buy it as a daily driver. It certainly would be a great project car/knockaround toy.

I think there asking around a thousand bucks. Im honestly not that big of a ford fan but there good looking cars. Like a euro american eclipse

nope nope nope

That money pit car will be falling apart.

Crappy power steering. Crappy water pumps. Terrible handling. Uncomfortable seats. Gas guzzler.

Crappy EGR that when it fails you can't get to it behind the motor. Oh and there's no room to work in the engine bay.

Hate it!

Lol i just checked car complaints.com theres 9 serious recalls and almost 300 technical service bulletins. Just wanted scottys reaction

That's funny, I'm reading the recalls, and there's one about failing balljoints.
The balljoint on MY Cougar fell out!

I would pass on it. Mercury is a dead brand, that car was never very good, and parts are tough to find.
