Thoughts on a 1999 mercury tracer with 50,000 miles? how reliable is it?

Well the mileage is great but when they're that old you're talking about 22-year-old cars who knows what rubber shape everything is in it might start leaking all over the place
But is that not the case with Honda’s and Toyota’s as well? Or or those generally safe to buy 20+ years old?
