Hi Sir! What do you think about a used ford escape titanium? Is this a reliable car? My 5 year old subaru crosstrek is a useless car now. The subaru dealer told me it needs a lot of repair. They maintain my car eversince I bought it 5 years ago. I took it to them last month cause it wiggles the front tires when I go 60+ mph. The worst part is that I noticed the temperature was going high the night before I took the Car to them. They said radiator hose is broken, front shafts leaking, tie rods leaking, oil/coolant cross contamination and lastly the arm control bushing torn. Are these repairs possible to a 5 year old car with 84k mileage? They want me to pay $11k for the repair. I need your advice Sir. And by the way, I took my car last July to fix the arm control and now its broken again. Its that possible too? Please I need your help sir. My wife, bought this on veterans day as a gift for me. She got a good deal ‘cause she’s in the navy. She didnt know whats going on with the car. I have no idea if Im honna let them fix it or just sell the car. I asked a second opinoion from independent shop and they were surprised with the repairs. Was it negligence on their part or the car is not a good car? I need your advice, Sir. Thank you in advance.
You need to get yet another opinion. Subarus may not hold up over the really long term (15-20 years, 300,000+ miles) like a Toyota or Honda but they don't generally fall apart after just a few years either. There is something unusual going on there. I wonder if the dealer sold you guys a car that was severely damaged before being sold and "rebuilt".

They refused to fix my car unless I approve the form that they sent me. They sent me this $7k estimate to repair my engine. I feel like they robbed me. Plus the control arm that they fixed last July is broken again they said. I really dont know what to do. In this time of Pandemic people are saving money and this subaru dealership wants me to pay just like that without telling me what happened.

Good point. I’m guessing the same thing. Maybe the car was wrecked or flooded. does it have a clean title?
One thing you need to figure out and it is not a bad thing also.

Goodafternoon. My wife bought this brandnew from subaru. Is that still possible that this car was wrecked or something? Is it still worth it to fix my car? Are they liable for all the repairs? They turned my car like a junk car. I called the WEBUYCAR.COM and they offered me $7k. I want to get rid of this car but I feel like the subaru is liable and they have to do something about it. Please advice. Thank you
It sounds very likely to me that the car was damaged somehow and "repaired/rebuilt" before the dealer sold it to you, and then they proceeded to make it even worse. I don't know how you would prove that on a car that was not previously titled though because the usual paper trail with services like carfax to show it was rebuilt would not be there.
The problem is that the dealer is an independent business and really they are the ones who would be liable if they pulled those kind of shenanigans. On the on the other hand if Subaru built it wrong (and the people putting it together would have had to be stoned out of their minds for it to be that bad) then they are liable. You could try to get Subaru corporate involved if you have not done so already but since the car is a couple of years out of warranty now so I don't know what they would do. Hiring a lawyer would probably cost more than the repairs.
If you own the car outright and it's in that bad of a condition it might be best to just take what you can get for it. Maybe check with some of the other big used car vendors out there. I sure would not plow 5 figures worth of repairs into it, and I would not go back to that dealer for anything.
Your car might not be the best but now you got it. Instead of being worried about it, estimate how much the fix will be in an independent mechanic shop with quality parts and then decide if you want to spend money on that or get rid of the car.
Abour your question for Ford Escape, depends on the mileage,... Although, I don’t think they are quality cars, especially their automatic transmission. If you want something similar and reliable, get a RAV4.
@yaser
- i asked an independent repair shop already. $12k in subaru dealer and 11k to independent shop. They were surprised when they checked my car and has alot of repairs to be done.
look for another mechanic.
The biggest problem you have is the oil/coolant issue.
I would definitely contact Subaru and ask for a free engine repair.
Especially, since you have service done at the dealership.
That is way too early for engine failure.

I have a suggestion:
if you live close by Scotty, contact him and take your car there.
Otherwise, make a video of the issues you have with the car and share it here to get better ideas what to do.
