Hi Scotty,
I was trying to ask my question through Google Plus but it's no longer available in my State of Maine. Sorry!
My question is. I am looking for a quiet snow tire the ones I have now whine so much on the road!! Enough to give you a headache. So I've been looking at the Michelin Cross Climate 2 All season tires? What do you know of them? They say the traction is great in the snow, which I need here in Maine, I'm just worried they will make noise like all the other tires do once the tread starts to go down?
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Any thoughts will be deeply appreciated. I watch alot of your videos and truly VALUE what you have to say.
Thanks!
Denise
Welcome new member.
with such a monotonous tread pattern, it’s inevitable that they’ll make noise. But most reviews suggest it’s less than you would think.
As for snow performance, consensus is that they are about as good as anything short of a true snow tire. I don’t have first hand experience, but my son in Denver put a set on his car this winter and said they live up to the hype.
Only drawback is the price. But considering you get Michelin quality and year round performance, they are probably worth it.
Cheers!
Living in upstate new york, I went for full nokian winter tire, the Hakka R5. Michelin also makes a great full winter tire, the X ice.
The big advantage of a true winter tire, not only is traction in snow, but much better ice traction. I love this video showing the difference in many tires that can be used in winter.
