Hey Scotty love the videos by the way. I'm the proud owner of an 155k mile old 84 cadillac fleetwood brougham with the 4.1l ht4100 v8 and rwd. I hear both good and bad things about the mid 80s cadillacs. I personally have no problems driving it other than a bad fuel pump which is not surprising with such high miles. Well what do you think?
You must live a charmed life if that HT4100 engine hasn't imploded on you - buy Powerball tickets!
{black}:hi:
Cadillac in the eighties was at the lowest it ever was. The Cadillac 4.1 is worst motor cadillac ever made. the later 4.5 and 4.9 were better improvements but were all in the same family.
I had a 83 with that miserable turd engine. car was nice but the engine,,,,,,,,,,POS!
DON'T BUY ONE WITH THE 4.1 V8 and V8-6-4 engine. It will bankrupt u lol.
The V8-6-4 cadillac engine wasn't a bad engine. It was just a 368 Cadillac engine (just a debored 500). The engine itself was solid, it just ran like crap with the cylinder deactivation. All it takes to disable it is to snip a wire under the transmission ( or be neat and do it through the "fuel management" computer.) When its disabled, you will have a natural V8 that runs like a V8!
If the car is in perfect condition otherwise and you can afford to put a Chevy 305 in it, mayby then.
Yikes, I would not ever think of owning one.
