Scotty, is it true that the military has a complete fighting force of old school (non computer) analog vehicles, trucks, tanks, ships, and planes to use incase of a first strike EMP blast? Thanks.
No. That's science fiction.
Not unless they are still holding on to the M151 Jeeps, M113 APC'S, M 48 Tanks, and Huey helicopters I drove in 1969! {pear}
Actually, An EMP will only affect equipment that is operating at the time of the burst. Anything not running will not be hurt. Radar would give ample warning to momentarily turn equipment "off"
Back in 1968 the Army was testing a portable, aimable microwave generator. Imagine what they are working on now, 50 years later.
Sgt. Redeye shoulder launched heat seeking missile NCOIC
🤣 man we can’t even keep the latest and greatest working properly. If we had older equipment and old gen stuff they wouldn’t be able to be repaired or maintained either.
Well those B52s are still flying and those go back a ways. (Though I'm sure they've been retrofitted with newer tech.)
