Hey Scotty big fan. Ive got a 2000 Honda Prelude SH. Bought it used at 201,000 miles at around 226,000 miles i started getting misfires ive done all the DIY stuff Cap/ rotor, Plugs and cables, took it to a shop and was told the valve lash was out of spec. I drove it for 500 miles and it would misfire again. Ive had this done 3 times and always the same. Any thoughts or some advice to look at certain systems.

Well if they adjust the valves and it goes away for 500 miles and then comes back you would have valve train where and they adjusted but since it's worn it soon goes out again. That would mean the engine would need rebuilding as it'd be too far worn out

Whats specifically would be worn out? Rocker arms, valve springs……?

If the valves won't hold adjustment then any or all of the above, as well as the valve adjustment mechanism, may be worn. It's probably also worth doing a wet vs. dry compression test to check overall health of the engine. If compression is not good there can be no expectation of the engine running properly.

yes. and piston rings and valve seats and camshafts and... etc.
Like Scotty said. You would have to tear down the engine to find out.
