Montero SUA

Hey Scotty, there have been in the past (2015) and until now many cases (10+ of reported) of Mitsubishi Montero models of around the same year (diesel automatics) where there was "sudden unintended acceleration" from newly started engines. Owners claim of extreme revs with black smoke even while stepping on the brakes. Mitsubishi claims it as driver error. The public thinks it's too much of a coincidence. What are your thoughts?

No way to know for sure without having access to the actual data from the vehicles involved. Everything else is just speculation.

Audi did the same thing back in the 80's.

I doubt all of them are driver error many manufacturers have experienced similar problems but that generaly occurs to lower quality cars. It happened to Toyota in the mid 2000s when they cheapend out on many of their cars, and Mitsubishi isn't known for making quality passenger cars.
