Viibrates in gear

Hey Folks,

So I have a 2005 Pontiac vibe with 128k miles on it. It runs well, transmission shifts smooth.

What I do notice is when it is cold in the morning, when I put it in gear it...rumbles, or vibrates a fair amount until the car is warm. Mainly when it is in gear, and foot on brake.

I thought possibly motor mounts, but if they were bad, wouldn't it do it even if it was warm?

Thanks!

The symptoms sound like what Scotty has mentioned being caused by the torque converter starting to wear out. However whatever is causing the vibration it's going to feel worse through possibly failing 19-year-old engine and transmission mounts.

Thanks, I will doing some checking, and hopefully narrow down the issue. Hopefully it isn't too bad an issue either.

I think your engine is just running rough (although bad mounts can make the problem worse)

it could also be a weak electrical system

Thanks!
So far I have changed the spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body and maf, run the ats-505 cro and crf through it. Fuel trims seem to be very good, and it seems to be running smooth at least. It does appear to have the original alternator.
I have cleaned off the battery terminals. I will test the voltage tomorrow, and see if anything looks off.
Any other advice is appreciated.
