Planning on moving from Minnesota to St.Thomas (USVI). Looking for advice what, if anything special I need to look at when buying a car from that region. It’s basically all city/hill driving. And doubt if vehicles go past 55mph. Also, does tropical climates cause havoc on a vehicle. Last thing I want to worry about is a vehicle after I buy it. Considering I just can’t run down to parts store. I’ve looked on Craigslist and would like a Jeep or Toyota.

Go with any Toyota over a Jeep, but if you want something Jeep-like go with a Toyota 4 runner, Land cruiser, or FJ cruiser.
