Scotty I got a quick question If I get a 6 speed 2018 mustang should I replace the tranny with a good t5 or just baby the stock one like changing the fluid once a year
Don't buy an 18 or newer GT. The motors have major problems.
If you know the MT-82 trans is a bad trans, why would you spend big money to buy a newer model with it and try to swap an older trans in? Why not go with a pre-2011 Mustang and avoid the MT-82 all together?
Hi there so can you tell me the major problems the 5.0 motor has because I have not heard any complaints about those motors And if it’s smarter to buy a 2017 6 speed
Google 2018 Mustang GT oil consumption. Also Google Mustang GT BBQ Tick. And lastly, Mustang GT scored cylinder linings. Too many complaints out there to even begin. All Mustangs since 2011 have come with the MT-82 transmission. They are made in China and are total junk. Ford is currently under class action lawsuit over them.
Are 2017 mustang engines better
Or what if I change the oil once a year
15-17 5.0L is better. In 2018 Ford went to plasma lined cylinders instead of steel piston sleeves. The process does not work and has/is wreaking havoc in every 5.0L V8. I even had to lemon my '18 F-150 over it. While the pre-18 engines are better, they are not perfect and the trans is junk in every year.
Ok I will get a pre 18 but the only reason why I want the 18 is because of the 460 horsepower motor what are some simple mods to bring up the 435 On a 17
Horsepower is just a number. Torque is what moves the car. Just get an intake, exhaust, and tune and you'll be at or past 460.
