2004 Toyota Camry xle 2AZ-FE engine 2.4L 130,638 miles
makes a sweaking noise when turning the tires and at speeds over 55 steering wheel shakes.
This noise is only when the car is driven a lot during the day. If I spray wd-40 in the top of the strut mount it stops for awhile. The strut coils are rusted badly and the boots are broken that cover the shocks.
Also when I get on the highway accelerating around 60 the steering wheel shakes. I think the torque motor mount could be the problem. This dog-bone mount is missing chunks of rubber. Could this be the problem?
I'm going to a garage to get a diagnosis and price. The auto repair shop is highly recommended and has all good reviews. Their always booked a week in advance to get in. I still don't trust any garage so if anyone knows what the noise and shaking is about please let me know.
Thanks
Well of course replaced the mount that's broken. Start there and if spraying lube on the streptos does it. It's time to replace the struts and the strut mounts
