My dad has a 2017 civic ex-t, the ac hasn't worked for a few years now, we tried recharging it, what is the next step?
When he bought the car in 2019 the AC system worked fine, but for the last 2 years, it has not worked. After recharging it nothing changed, what should we do next? This car has been nothing but trouble as the transmission(CVT) had a large leak this past winter, the car has gone through 3 wheel bearings(2 of which were rear driver side) and on top of that the AC is never working when we need it.
So this generation of the Civic does have a reputation of faulty AC system and Honda has issued an extended warranty for the AC on affected models. (Link below).
As for CVT this generation doesn't seem to have widespread serious transmission issues, but since you've bought it used maybe the previous owner did not take proper care or change the transmission fluid on time etc.
