Hi Scotty and everybody I’m glad that I am able get my questions answered by people like y’all Alleviate the stress dealing with dealerships and Sketchy mechanics. So I have a 2014 Toyota RAV4 LE AWD WITH 100,241 miles and I have come across two issues that have become concerning. The first one is that every time I wake up in the morning and I let my car warm up (or if my car hasn’t moved in a while 3 to 4 hours give or take the weather) my car will make a very loud screeching noise and will continuously make that same noise for 2 to 4 minutes while moving and then I won’t hear it again until the car is sitting for a while. Toyota told me that it could because my exhaust isn’t there therefore it could be causing the issue, but I’ve had my exhaust off for about a year now and it just recently started happening ever since I got my car back from service. My second issue is when I’m accelerating on speedometer range of 20 to 40 mph the car shakes fto be more specifcally my excelerator like it’s stuttering but goes away when I exceed 40 and whatever i’m driving with a light foot on the pedal it’s more and more noticeable compared to me flooring it. Toyota told me that it could be my serpentine belt, but when I went to a JiffyLube for for an inspection they told me that my serpentine belt wasn’t cracked or anything and was in tiptop shape. I assume that it could be the torque converter, but I don’t know exactly until I have someone actually really look at it. Also, I was wondering do I need to replace the transmission oil because I was told I have to by the dealership, but others say I don’t have to so I was hoping to get clarification on that as well. Thank you in advance Scotty and everyone for being super helpful and I really appreciate it you guys helping me to get to the bottom of this.
Check that you have no fluid leaks or spills near the serpentine belt. That could cause the initial cold start squealing. I would do a tranny drain and refill for sure at 100k miles.
