My son's Oldsmobile Aurora has an overheating problem it has a V8 in it it's a North star do you have any suggestions
Any idea how hot the engine gets, in degrees F?
You need to check a few things.
Is coolant 50/50 percent?
Is the coolant dirty?
Do you have a good radiator cap?
Do both radiator hoses get hot?
Do the cooling fans operate when hot?
Is there debris between the A/C condenser and radiator?
Have you performed a combustion leak test for a bad head gasket?
Have you checked the thermostat?
Did you shoot the radiator core with a temp gun to check for cold spots?

Better keep that video in your favorites! That is a very common question.
That's an old car. A head gasket could be gone. Radiator clogged. Thermostat stuck.
Is it losing coolant?
Does the coolant or oil look contaminated?
