I have a 2014 toyota rav4. The lift gate won't work half the time. It moves a little then stops. It finally starts working. Any solutions?
It acts like a sensor is being tripped. Is there a safety electric eye somewhere?

If it is powered, it is likely the Rear Power Liftgate Supports Left and Right needs to be changed out. Either that, or try to repair the current ones, but it usually is more cost effective to just switch them out.
go with new ones. they aren't expensive.

Can you close it by hand?
Do you still remember how to do that?
Sounds like the lift motor is dying, it is almost 6 years old.
