Hey guys I need your recommendation for my friend on buying new car. He got few in mind which he is planning to get
Toyota camry trd
Honda civic type r limited
Honda accord sports
Hundayi sonata N line
Hundayi veloster N line
Kia stinger
Subru wrx sti
He is looking for midsized seaden from 2020 to 2021 so pretty much new one. Currently he is using his dad old Honda accord 2000 with 350000 miles on it and it started to give issue
He has looked at the prices and he said buy new one with less issues and Hassel or get a used one while finding good honest mechanics.
So we decided to get Toyota camry trd.
But he has few question related to it
How often should he change
transmission fluid
Coolant
Engine oil and what kind
Which type of fuel
And any other thing he should be worried about because we are gonna go to dealer this Friday to make final purchase
The reason he says he wants toyota is because of V6 and horse power plus he don't know how to use manual like me
I got civic type r and I am happy with it but him yeah so trd lol
Has he looked a new car prices? Good Lordy they are INSANE!
Try to talk him into buying a Honda or Toyota or Mazda that's 4-5 years old and has been checked by a good mechanic. A new Honda Accord is going to cost around $30,000 while a 5-year old Accord is going to be closer to $20,000. (Same for Mazda...we recently found a 2016 Mazda CX-5 for my daughter for $17,000)
If he plans to keep beyond the warranty period and hoping to get as much mileage as possible on it with minimal issues, go with the Camry TRD. Avoid the Hyundai Motor Group vehicles as well as the Honda products (to avoid some of their engines with oil dilution issues).
I’d personally go for the Camry TRD since it will be the most reliable out of all of those. Just do the first transmission fluid change at 50k miles or sooner and then do it again every 30k miles after that. The Toyota dealership will tell you to change the oil every 10,000 miles but don’t listen to that BS. Play it safe and do oil changes every 5,000 miles
Get the Accord or jump ship & buy a Camry.
Camry or Avalon
- It all depends on how long your friend wants to keep the car, If it’s for about 5 years, a Hyundai would be nice as they have really upped their game on technology and all the features that come with the car, with Hyundai’s cruise control system working better than many other manufacturers.
The Toyota Camry trd isn’t anything special other than extra money being paid. There is really no point of buying a sporty Toyota. You are better off buying a new sporty civic instead, as they can last for a seriously long time, while also having good fuel efficiency. Keep in mind that a civic is smaller, so there is a good difference of interior space especially for the back row.
The Kia Stinger is a great car with lots of space and a nice looking car in general, same perspective applied as the Hyundai.
stay away from Subaru, they really aren’t worth it. Not the best built including their depreciation being a pain.
