How bad are the used dodge caravans mini vans? What are the problems? The prices are low compared to others. Should I get one?
Should I get one?
No. They are endless money pits as they age. They are cheap for a reason. If you want a van look at Toyota Sienna/Honda Odyssey. They are built much better.
If looking at old ones or high mileage you might want to stay away from Odysseys as well. Per Scotty they are known to have weak transmissions. Be sure to have a good mechanic check out any used vehicle before purchase.

Everything under the Sun was wrong with Chrysler/Dodge minivans. They don't make Dodge minivans anymore, and the Chrysler changed names to the Chrysler Pacifica in order to avoid the notoriety associated with the Chrysler Town & Country (both the Dodge minivan and the Chrysler minivan shared the same platform). I believe the Chrysler was more "upmarket" than the Dodge. Chrysler made millions of them because they were people movers, with a whole lot of creature comforts. I would take a hard pass on anything used, unless you find a Toyota Sienna.
Have you considered a 3 row Toyota SUV like Sequoia, Grand Highlander or 4Runner? There's also 3 row Lexus SUVs like GX, TX or LX. Wouldn't hurt to see if any of those come close to what you need.
