The 2022 BMW X5 (luxury mid-size SUV) are very expensive to maintain. Change the oil every 5k miles, the transmission fluid every 30-40k miles.

DO NOT send it to a BMW dealer for anything. Dealers are nothing but a load of "fun". Find a local mechanic who knows how to work on BMWs.

I was wondering which engine did you pick for the X5? If u picked the B58 (3l inline 6) that will be your best bet for it to last, engine-wise since the V8s (N63 or S63 if u went with the M50i or X5M) don't have exactly have a good track record for reliability. change the oil every 3-5k miles, tranny fluid every 30-50k miles, change the coolant every few years, and who knows it could probably last. I would not take your X5 to the dealer once the warranty runs out because they charge way too much money to fix them.

💯 the inline 6 is amazing. They have been building that thing for 3 decades. The core is a good engine. All the plastic stuff surrounding it is garbage.

aside from the N54, BMW makes amazing inline 6 engines

Follow the maintenance schedule in the manual. The X5 is an amazing vehicle. It just cost an arm and a leg to maintain. But if you aren’t driving it much, it may not cost as much until years down the line.

I had a 2007 X5. It ran up to 200K miles over 13 years with proper maintenance. Granted, I spent $$$ maintain it at higher mileage, trying to milk what I could.
