Hey Scotty, my mom owns a 2006 Subaru Outback, with 215,000 (mostly) highway miles on it in Montana. She is looking for a new car soon. She loves Subaru and wants a new 2020 Subaru Outback, but I have heard the newer ones have engine and transmission issues. Is this true? And would you recommend a Subaru for her, or something else such as a 2020 Rav4 AWD 8-speed? Thanks!
The Rav4 would be more reliable. Subaru is starting to have issues with their automatic transmissions again sadly.
Sounds like mom knows how to take care of a car.
I wouldn't worry. There is real value in actually liking the car.
Plus, being accustomed to the driving dynamics makes for an easier (safer) transition.
Most new cars now days have gearbox problems it says somthing when the likes of peugeot citron renault nissan vauxhall all have issues and are classed as common fault most jap cars are ok honda toyota are 2 of the most reliable cars on the planet
