I currently have a 2010 Nissan Frontier with 185k miles and I'm looking to buy a new mid-size truck. What truck should I consider - I like the 2021 Tacoma and the 2022 Frontier, but is there something else you recommend?

Tacomas are very expensive, but if you can afford it they are the best trucks on the market.
If you can get a new Tacoma, get one! If not, get a used Nissan Frontier, preferably 2019 or older.
If you are sticking to newer trucks (let’s just say a few years old or newer) and budget permits then go with the Tacoma of course. Otherwise, runner up would have to be the 2019 model year or older Frontier; the 2020 and newer went to newer powertrain — both engine and transmission as well as switched to direct injection-only — and not as true and tried as the older powertrains (engine and transmission) in the 2019 and older Frontiers.
