I have a 1994 D21 2.4L Manual trans with 291K miles! I am going to be replacing the whole timing set. I am looking at an OSK timing set for $208. Is this a good brand? Other sets were around 100 on auto parts stores that I wouldnt trust.
It has had the classic rattle at startup for 2-3 years now and has stayed the same but thought it would be a fun project. Sadly I do know its an interference engine. Are there any specfic tips I should be aware of? I know keeping the oil pump and distibutor in time can be quite the hassel.
Also how hard is changing all the clutch components? This will be my next project for the ole girl. Thanks!
Yes buy that more expensive timing chain a smart move.now clutch is just bolt work pulling off the transmission it's not an easy job but it's not rocket science
would a ratcheting tensioner be a good idea for the timing chain?
Putting that much money into 30yo car with almost 300k is a terrible idea.
