I'm Roberto, a fan from Puerto Rico. I was wondering if you can give me some advice on a car problem I'm having. I have Nissan Versa 2012 SV 1.6. Vin Number: 3N1CN7APXCL850148. The fuel pump is rusted and so is the fuel tank. My uncle who is also a mechanic, like yourself, told me to clean the fuel pump with gasoline to get rid of the rust. I don't know what to do. Do I buy a new fuel pump, which costs $600, or do I clean the old one with gasoline, or some sort of chemical that you can recommend? Thank you for your time.
I think a new pump and tank would be more appropriate......
if you don’t want to spend the money for new, go to a salvage yard, just make sure they come off the same make and model.
