I like Toyota and Honda SUVs but they are pretty expensive or cheap in rough shape. I'm looking at older Ford Explorer and Nissan X-Terra SUVs. Considering similar shape and price, around $1500 with 140k miles, is a late 95-00 4.0 V6 OHV 2WD Explorer better, or a early 2000s 3.3 V6 2WD 5MT Nissan X-Terra? Or something else as a cheap SUV?

I don't think it is a smart move to buy a car with that price (especially in this market).
